It writes in ordinary ink. The editing is not in the ink. It is in what the Editor intends when the pen moves. The transcript changes because the Editor has decided what it should say. The pen is ceremonial — the Veil has learned that intention is more reliable when it has a physical anchor. Even their editing requires something to hold.
